Ag-Al interaction and martensite stabilization study in Cu-Al alloys with Ag additions

Abstract

The effect of 4, 6, 8 and 10wt.%Ag additions on the reverse martensitic transformation in Cu-Al alloys with 10 and 11wt.%Al will be studied usingoptical and scanning electronic microscopy, differential thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction and hardness measurements changes with temperature and time. The results will allow to analyze the effect of Al concentration on the reverse martensitic transformation temperature, on the martensite stabilization and the influence of Ag-Al interaction on the stabilization mechanism.
