Dispersed systems used in cosmetic technology

Abstract

In the present study we address the following issues: (1) nano-emulsions; (2) emulsions containing liquid crystals and, (3) multiple emulsions. This project contributes to different scientific areas (pharmaceutical techniques, cosmetics, colloidal systems, complex fluids), sustainable development of drugs and to the progress of the Post-Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of São Paulo - School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Ribeirão Preto. Our purpose is to produce different colloidal systems to improve the transport of different substances with therapeutic applications, such as used to psoriasis treatment, contact dermatitis, tissue repair and regeneration, fungicidal activity, insect repellent, increasing the time of therapeutically effects and reducing collateral effects. The ability of the Dispersed systems in increasing the hydratation, wettability, spreadability, selectivity of the drug to bind in the active site and permeability properties, contribute to decrease the side effects. The support required in this project focus on the acquisition of permanent material and other services mainly intend to upgrade the laboratory informatization. We have a great number of pos-graduate students, 3 PhD student and 5 Msc, and 7 of scientific initiation, most of them requiring financial support from the FAPESP. We intend to increase the impact of our publications e a informatization of our laboratory is fundamental to realize this mark. (AU)
