Polimerization process results of two composites chemically distincts: a marginal fit in vitro evaluation

Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the consequences of polymerization process of two chemistry distinct restoration composites on marginal gaps formation. Ten mandibular first molars will be prepared with cavities on mesial and distal faces. Mesial faces will be restored with Clearfil SE Bond + Filtek Z-350 (control group) and distal faces will be restored with Silorane P90 + Filtek Silorane P90. After 24h at 37°C and relative humid storage, the specimens will be evaluated concerning initial marginal gap formation. The margins will be dyed with 1% red acid and propilenglycol, then, the specimens will be photographed and the obtained images will be imported in Image Tool 3.0. software. The gap margin length formation will be calculated as percentage of total marginal length. After that, the specimens will be subjected to the thermo mechanical test at a machine that carries out thermo and mechanical cycles, simultaneously. After the cycles, the specimens will be evaluated concerning final marginal gap formation. Statistical analysis will be used to better data interpretation. (AU)
