Gaps quality and quantity evaluation of two chemically distinct composites.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the gap features of two chemically distinct resin composites. Ten permanent third molars will be Class II prepared and will be restored with Clearfil SE Bond + Filtek Z-350 and with Silorano P90 + Filtek Silorano P90 at mesial and distal faces, respectivelly. In order to obtain contrast, the bonds wil be mixed with Rodamine B. After 10.000 cicles with baths varying between 5°C and 55°C, 30 seconds each and mechanical cicles of 2Hz of frequency and 60N of load, the specimens will be covered with fluresceíne and sectioned at mesial-distally way. The extension and deeper (quantity) and the locals with more gaps (qualities) will be analyzed at Scanning Laser Confocal Microscopy (SLCM). The data will be subjected at one-way ANOVA, Tukey multiple comparisons (p<0.05) and qui-square (p<0.05). The data of gap extensions will be compared with the data obtained after thermic mechanical cycles from Project #2009/14762-4 FAPESP, by Pearson´ Correlation.
