Abstract

Osseointegrated implants housed within a prosthesis framework is a feasible alternative to the edentulous patient by a Branemark protocol prosthesis. The precision of fit and the closeness of the clearance between the bearing surfaces of the implant abutment and implant component is important to the stress transfer, biomechanics of an implant systems and the response of the host tissues at the biologic interface. Photoelastic is an experimental technique that presents reliable results. Cast one-piece full-arch implant frameworks may be imprecise and inaccurate as judged against their passive fir requirements. In this study two master models will be designed. Model 1: five external hexagon titanium implants will be positioned paralelly in the mandibular symphysis region and straight abutments will be positioned; model 2: four external hexagon titanium implants will be positioned: two will be parallel (with straight abutments) and two will be positioned with 45° inclination (with 30° abutements). Frameworks will be waxing and cast in one-piece using Ti c.p. The goal of this study is to evaluate the fit of implant/abutment by a optical microscope and the stress transfer to the implants when the cast one-piece full-arch implant frameworks or machined and laser-welded titanium framework is subject to a static load in the cantilever region according to the number and position of the distal implants.
