Influence of photodynamic therapy on periodontal disease treatment-induced in rats treated with not sterodial antiinflamatory (lumiracoxibe): histological and hystommetrical analysis.

Abstract

The inflammatory process starts up after a tissue injury and ends with the destruction or a complete healing. In order to minimize the signs of the inflammatory reaction are used non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs (AINEs). Studies have shown that used drugs inhibiting of the COX enzyme can lead to reduction in alveolar bone resorption. The tissue biomodulation by the use of low-intensity laser is an alternative complementary in the process of repair because, this system interfere in a positive way in the mitochondrial respiratory chain and the synthesis of ATP, inducing tissue proliferation, production of nucleic acid, increasing cell division, in addition to being an effective process to control antimicrobial favoring this way the process of repair. This study aims to acess the effects of antiinflammatory lumiracoxibe, with Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) in the treatment of periodontal disease induced in rats. In this study will be used 120 male rats, in which will be induced periodontal disease and after this period will be distributed in accordance with the following groups: Group(I): Control; scaling and root planing and sistemic aplication of saline solution during 3 days; Group(II): scaling and root planing and sistemic aplication of antiinflamatory during 3 days; Group(III): scaling and root planing and systemic aplication of saline solution during 3 days and PDT; Group(IV): scaling and root planing, systemic aplication of antiinflamatory during 3 days and PDT.
