Evaluation of the bond strength of resin cements to ceramics with use of different adhesive protocols


The aim of this study will be to evaluate the micro-shear bond strength of three resin cements, with different adhesive protocols, bonded to two types of ceramic. The photopolymerization will be through the ceramic disks. In addition, the degree of conversion of the resin cements will be evaluated. The groups will be divided according to resin cement, adhesive protocol and type of ceramic, feldspathic (Cergogold) and lithium disilicate (Empress II): G1, G2, G3, G4, G5, G6, G7, G8 and G9. After the adhesive application, cement cylinders will be made for the micro-shear test. The photopolymerization will be realized through the ceramic with a metallic device specially made for this study. After the test, the fractured samples will be analyzed in scanning electron microscope to classify the failure mode. The results will be analyzed and the correct statistical test will be applied.
