Abstract

We aim to study the convergent validity and reliability of the Ladder contemplation scale for application by telephone among psychoactive substance users. The validation of Ladder scale will allow the use of a fast and easy administered instrument for determination of motivational state for behavior change among psychoactive substance users looking for counseling by a telephone information service. Objectives: To evaluate the validity of the Ladder contemplation scale among psychoactive substance users; to investigate the convergent validity between the Ladder and URICA Scales; to determine the psychometric properties of the instruments. Method: A cross-sectional study using a consecutive sampling enclosing all drug users requesting counseling during a given period, being estimated the attainment of a 1500 subjects sample. (AU)
