Abstract

The main objective of this project is to compare gene expression profiling of colorectal cancer cells with those of adjacent nonturnorous mucosa utilizing microarray method. Specifically we want: 1. To detect differences between neoplastic cells, adenomatous polyps and adjacent nontumorous cells regarding gene expression profiles (mutational or expression levels status); 2. To correlate clinical and pathologic data to the gene expression profile of patients with colorectal tumors, who will undergo standardized surgical treatment. (AU)
