Research on the behavior of couples partridge (Red-winged tinamou) kept in captivity and its relation with the variability of reproductive ability access by production of fertile eggs and splutter healthy

Abstract

The great difficulty of producing partridge in captivity is related to low fertility rate of eggs. The production of fertile eggs depends primarily on the expression of sexual behavior, but in captivity it is perceived inability to express the behavior of animals selected hard for species evolution. Firstly, males are unable to attract the females more receptive to their chirp due to the physical barrier established by the separation between the boxes, second, the females may mate with the male in the room available, third, as there is no dispute among males, the female can not be sexually stimulated by mating. Given the situation, this project aims to compare the behavior established between individuals in groups with high and low production of fertile eggs, which will be defined according to the period of greatest egg production of the species, considering the viability of eggs and splutter. According to the productivity couples will be chosen randomly and will be filmed 3 consecutive days for analysis of temporal allocation, dominance and agonistic behavior. The classification of birds will be made using the k-means method (software statistics 8.0) which is a non-hierarchical cluster analysis (cluster). (AU)
