Abstract

The success of surgical treatment in laryngeal cancer may not only give attention to the survival rate, this relationship with rapid rehabilitation of voice and speech. To understand how the structures of the digestive tract involved in the production of tracheoesophageal sound, air pressure and phonation pressure threshold can be used as a method of analysis in these patients. In the literature that there is no consensus regarding the influence of radiotherapy in the training of voice and speech in laryngectomized. The aim is to compare the level of pressure and phonatory intraluminal pressure observed in pharyngoesophageal transition in total laryngectomy with and without additional radiotherapy treatment, at rest, and the delivery of voice and speech. This study will examine 20 patients who underwent total laryngectomy, with and without radiotherapy, and were referred for placement of the prosthesis speaks for secondary puncture. Initially, the collection will be submitted to laryngectomy and the material record of voice and speech and will later be sent to measure the pressure level of phonation and manometry to assess the intraluminal pressures observed in pharyngoesophageal transition, while the noise of the prolonged vowel " at rest. The variables are analyzed, comparing the results of statistical tests, setting the significance level (p) less than or equal to 0.05 (5%). (AU)
