Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases present etiology, diagnosis, treatment and prevention as well defined, there is a broad scientific knowledge of the causative factors, methods of detection and treatment are sensitive to natural history and therapeutic interventions are the subject of a national program to control it, given this so the criteria defined by Kessner et al (1992) for selecting a tracer for evaluation of health services. Accordingly, it is proposed that this research objective of evaluating the actions of care for cardiovascular diseases as tracer results from the articulation of different levels of care of the health system in the municipality of Ribeirao Preto-SP. This is one case study and descriptive, using quantitative data. The study population will consist of all outpatient procedures and hospital care for cardiovascular injuries made by the Secretary of State and Municipal Health Secretariat (SMS), recorded in the CIS and the SIH-SUS-SUS in the city, from 1996 - 2007. As data collection technique will be used to document research. Will be used secondary data provided by DATASUS by DRS and SMS-XIII, particularly of the SIA-SUS and SIH-SUS. There will also be consulted documents, standards implementation and operation of the regulatory system of the municipality of study in order to characterize the provision of care to cardiovascular injuries. Analysis will be used for descriptive statistics of the variables studied by adopting frequencies and mean values, building time series that indicate trends. Analysis of the regulation will be accomplished through the exploitation of documents, standards implementation and operation of the regulatory system in order to characterize the provision of services and analyze it critically integrating production data for inpatient and outpatient services, to identify the potential and / or the need for coordination between services of different technological complexities. The discussion will be developed from the theoretical framework adopted, namely, the reorganization of the health system in the city in view of the SUS. (AU)
