Abstract

The project deals with mesoscopic systems on the interface between the quantum and classical behavior, with the focus on the systems of bosons with interaction between the particles, especially when the number of bosons is large. Our principal interest is the quantum effects in open systems and the methods of control of such systems with the macroscopic means. Immediate applications are in the field of the trapped cold atoms and Bose-Einstein condensates of diluted gases, the propagation of light in the structured media, for instance, the multi-core optical fibers and photonic crystals, and the quantum optics in general.
