Abstract

This project aims to respond the question: "What is the relationship between the fostering of "decent work" and corporate competition? The importance of this work focus on the connection between "work and development", where development refers to processes of changes in global structure (economic, politic, social, cultural and environmental), which improves the life quality of all members of a society, and provides for basic collective necessities, including the generation of job positions.The general objective of this project aims to the comprehension of the relationship of the topics aforementioned and to validate the proposed hypothesis. As for specific objectives, the following item will be addressed: a) to study ILO's proposal on "Decent Work" and its impact in different countries as well as to compare it with the "Decent Work " program in Brazil, including its sub-program in Bahia; b) to study corporate competitivity and productivity and their theories and variables, in order to identify how they could foster decent works in some particular social-demographic regions.Major challenges for this project will arise from testing hypothesis and in order to overcome it, we will adopt as investigational strategies the theoretical research and the survey of cases.
