Abstract

The demands for housing are a challenge for the public politics of mental health, as much for the egresses of long hospital internments how much for a new generation of patients with social links and communitarian bows. The Centro de Atenção Psicossocial (CAPS) are devices substitutes to the psychiatric hospital that assume the role of reference in the communitarian net of cares in mental health. The objective of this study is to analyze aspects of the sociability in patients who inhabit together in a pension and the role assumed for the CAPS in the care of these individuals, through therapeutical interventions directed to together life in the space of the pension. The field work will be realized in a pension situated in the Santa Cecília neighborhood, in the downtown of São Paulo-SP, where it has a vast net of attendance services and where some patients of the CAPS live. The research techniques will be ethnographic comment and interviews half-structuralized with the resident patients in the pension, its caregivers and the team responsible technique. The qualitative study, based on the Anthropology, when describing the routine of the inhabitants of the pension and its connections with the therapeutical interventions of the CAPS, will make possible to evaluate the sociability processes of the patients. In the intentions to contribute for the better definition of the role of this service inside net of health attendance and for a model of attendance articulated to the multiple necessities of patients who do not live next to its familiar ones.
