Abstract

The present interdisciplinary research project involves the fields of Public Policies, Educational Management and Fundamentals of Education. It has a connection with the Group of Studies and Research about Professional & Technological Education (GEDPROFTEC) led by its proponent, and with the Laboratory of Public Policies and Educational Planning (LAPPLANE), School of Education, State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). It is aimed at investigating professional and technological education policies in Brazil, mainly identifying the evolution of curricular policies that took place after the new law regulating education in Brazil was enacted (LDB 9394/96 - 1996 to 2009) within the context of the federal education legislation reforms by focusing on technical education (high school technical and professional education) and technological education (higher degree technology courses). Field research will focus on professional education policies (technical and technological) aiming at identifying relevant aspects as well as the specificities of curricular organizations implemented in the Schools of Technology and in the State-Owned Technical Schools of the Centro Paula Souza school located in the State of São Paulo. The analysis of the federal legislation will be made along with the specific guidelines defined by the system adopted by the government of the State of São Paulo - specifically through the legislation concerned with professional education as provided by Centro Paula Souza. Within the range of qualitative research in education, the question/issue will be approached through a systemic/holistic focus. This study is intended to allow the identification of the professional education process as expressed by the legal/regulatory framework by focusing on curricular policies. In addition, it shall contribute to understand the historical evolution of curricular policies within the context of this legal/regulatory framework on a federal basis as well as on a state basis (specifically in the State of São Paulo).
