Abstract

The Youth and Adult Education (YAE) modality were instituted by the Law of National Education Guidelines and Bases in 1996. YAE is aimed at people over 18 who have not completed primary and secondary education and this education modality is the opportunity for them to continue or start schooling. The objective of the study will be to identify how the offer of this modality was organized in the municipality of Marília in the last ten years, that is, considering the period of five years that preceded the current Municipal Education Plan (2015-2025) and five years after its validity and analyze its characteristics, its possible advances and/or setbacks. Their search will be developed in a qualitative approach and the methodology used will be bibliographic and documentary research. As a result, we will seek to apprehend the possible relations between the national context and the municipal context of public policies for YAE. In 2019, there was the extinction of the Secretariat of Literacy, Education Continuity, Diversity and Inclusion and the disappearance of the sport in the administrative structure of the Ministry of Education.
