Abstract

The radioactive ion beams (RIB) opened a large field of research in low energy Nuclear Physics. At the Pelletron Laboratory of the Institute of Physics of USP it was installed a system of 2 superconducting solenoids which allows the production of beams of light exotic nuclei like 6He and 8Li among others. This system is operating since 2004 and has produced several studies like the elastic scattering of 6He+27Al, 6He+120Sn,6he+9Be, 12C+8Li, and the astrophysical reaction p(8Li,alfa). For the continuity of this research projects it is absolutely necessary to supply the solenoids continuously with liquid helium. The project that presently funds the helium supply (2008/09341-7) will be ended by the first semester of 2011 and it is very important to have a new funding project by the begin of the second semester of 2011.
