Abstract

This project includes a survey and analysis of the work of geographer Milton Santos, the year in which they complete 10 years of his death. The importance of the works will be examined with a view to the implications and contributions they can make to the area of communication, specifically for the subfield of the geography of communication. For that we divided into two phases: the academic work in the form of books and articles and journalistic work published in newspapers of São Paulo and Bahia. This project also includes a post-doctoral internship of 12 months under the supervision of. Dra. Sonia Virginia Moreira, Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Social Communication and Professor of the Faculty Standing in the PPG-COM Graduate Program in Communication, Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and leader of the Research Group of CNPq, Geography ofCommunication. The post will include doctoral, supervised from the discussions, courses dealing with the theme of geography and communication concerning the theme. Other academic activities will be developed at the request of. Dra. Sonia Virginia Moreira and then highlighted in the interim and final reports. We understand that within 12 months, monthly stays are required at UERJ and productive for the progress of research, which comes to justify the requested 72 day (considering the stay of three days in the city of Rio de Janeiro).
