Abstract
During his visit, Prof. Archibald will give the talk "The Benefits of Bilingualism: Cognitive, academic and social" in the workshop "Psicolingüística e Teoria lingüística: tentativas de diálogo", and will minister a seminar discussing the following topics: 1. The role of acoustic prominence in the acquisition of phonology; 2. The role of phonology in the mental lexicon: evidence from infrared eyetracking; 3. Reconciling multiple data sources and technologies in explaining language performance; 4. Comparing early- and late-bilinguals: aspects of knowledge and ability. (AU)
