Abstract

Professor Paul Hofman is Chairman in the Department of Pathology, School of Medicine at University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis. His visit aims to enhance the partnership with this University, which began in 2007 when the PhD student Paulo Henrique Braz da Silva stayed there for 1 year, as part of your PhD course and under supervision of Professor Alain Doglio. During Prof. Paul Hofman's visit, some activities in research area are planned, as working in projects developed in partnership and discussing future researches to be developed in colaboration with Department of Pathology of Emilio Ribas Infectology Institute. To fund this project we are going to apply for grants in national and international agencies (INSERM and SIDACTION). The visitant professor will collaborate on some activities in post-graduation course, teaching in two different areas in Oral Pathology (Introduction to Molecular Pathology and Introduction to Surgical Pathology). He will also participate into IX JOCAPE lecturing on "Diagnosis of opportunist infections in immunocompromised patients". This event will be opened to scientific community in general. Additionally, the professor will take part of final evaluation of Paulo Henrique Braz da Silva's PhD thesis, done in partnership between both Universities. For developing all these activities, we are planning a visit for 9 days, adjusting the agenda to the professor's availability. (AU)
