Abstract

The visit of professor Dr. Thomas Bauer, University of Vienna, Austria, seeks a scientific collaboration in the development of individual research projects of the applicant ("Fundamentals of the media image" in attainment with CNPq (2010-2014) and researchers from the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Semiotics of Media and Culture, and the development of the research project on Media and Religion of UNIP, led by Malena Segura Contrera, as well as individual research projects directed by Luciano Guimarães (UNESP-Bauru) and José Eugenio de Oliveira Menezes (Cásper Libero). What unites four research centers and their research is around the European paradigm of the Media Theory and Intercultural Communication. Thomas Bauer is one of the most active and representative professors and researchers with a large and important international role in both research and practice in European media in regions of crisis during the last decades. He is an icon of the media practice in intercultural, ethnic, cultural and religious conflicts. (AU)
