Abstract

This project aims at strengthening the cooperation between the Electrical Engineering Department (SEL-EESC-USP) and the National Institute of Optics and Photonics (INOF) located at the Institute of Physics of São Carlos (IFSC). This collaboration is already very fruitful since INOF has been established, and it will require from now on, bolder steps towards incrementing the ongoing researches and creating new research fronts, such as: new research projects, intensification of current national and international collaborations, organization of scientific events, etc. These tasks are complex and should count with the direct collaborations of researches with known competence in the field. Therefore, this financial support application is intended to provide the adequate means for supporting Prof. Frederico Dias Nunes, from the Electrical Engineering and Systems Dept of the University of Pernambuco (UFPE), for a 12 months period. Prof. Nunes has a vast experience in the subject of this colaboration (nano-plasmonics, that is) and has been contributing with INOF since its implementation (he is one of its idealizers). The partnership SEL-INOF has counted with Prof. Nunes close collaboration in all nano-plasmonic projects under the supervision of Prof. Borges, with publications in international journals and conferences. It is worth mentioning that INOF is a research center that counts with massive financial support from FAPESP and CNPq. (AU)
