Abstract

With this visit of Professor Martin Taylor, University of Wales (Bangor - UK), we intend to continue their collaboration with three research groups in the State of São Paulo, USP São Carlos, UFSCar-UNESP Sorocaba and Presidente Prudente. The main area of collaboration is the systems and devices for organic electronics, including transistors from organic materials and sensors and biosensors. Some specific topics include models to explain electrical properties of sensors based on electrical impedance spectroscopy employing the concept of electronic tongue, the study of surface states in organic devices and new architectures for these devices. The activities planned will focus on discussions of work begun with students and teachers of the groups mentioned, some of which have recently worked in the group of Professor Taylor in Bangor. In these studies, which generated joint publications with Professor Taylor in recent years has been its expertise in fundamental device physics and ultra-thin organic films. The activities will be complemented by seminars and symposia in the three institutions to be visited by Professor Taylor, that a larger portion of our scientific community to have contact with him.
