Abstract

This scientifc visit of Dr. Aleksey Nabok, from Sheffield-Hallam University, is aimed at starting collaboration in sensors and biosensors, in order to extend our capability in terms of methods of detection. Dr. Nabok has implemented a novel method, referred to as Total Internal Reflection Ellipsometry (TIRE), which has led to excellent results in sensing. We shall take the opportunity of his visit to consider implementing this method in the State of São Paulo. Dr. Nabok will deliver an invited lecture in a Symposium in Sorocaba, and visit UFSCar-Sorocaba and Unifesp-Diadema, in addition to IFSC-USP. In these visits, the central topic will be the use of TIRE and similar methods in biosensors made with nanostructured films in research projects developed by researchers in the State of São Paulo.
