Abstract

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common metabolic endocrine disorder that affects women of reproductive age. PCOS is characterized for being a heterogeneous syndrome and among the features there is less natural reproductive potential in these women. Despite advances in knowledge of the SOP, the etiopathogenesis of this syndrome is not well established and its diagnosis is not effective. This work will be obtained samples of blood plasma and follicular fluid of patients with and without PCOS undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) in Human Reproduction Division of the Federal University of Sao Paulo - UNIFESP. At first the material is subjected to the protocol for extraction of lipids and lipid profile obtained by the technique of Matrix Assisted Laser Disorption Ionization (MALDI) and Electrospray (ESI). Thus, because it is the microenvironment that surrounds the oocyte, the Ovarian Follicular Fluid (LF) is a good material for research. The use of new techniques to search for identification of lipid biomarkers in follicular fluid and peripheral blood of patients with PCOS is very important for reproductive medicine, because it can help to improve diagnostics and possible therapeutics.
