Abstract

The focus of this research is on the human movement, and in particular on what this experience indicates about the elaboration of time and space. The purpose is to investigate how the notion of lived time and space is configured, and how this corporeal wisdom is elaborated in the dialogue we establish with the world through our movement. In Physical Education especially, many of the studies on human movement assume a point of view about time and space anchored on classic physics. Nevertheless, there is little research examining the movement through the notion of lived body as a being in the world. To begin with, this study will consist of a rigorous theoretical study considering mainly the referential from philosophy; it will also be looking at specific academic research in physical education and at the dialogue with reports of experience from the universe of the culture of movement. Firstly we intend to understand the questions presented by phenomenology about time and space; then it will be necessary to establish the relation between the notion of corporeality, spatiality and temporality from the human movement experience; and finally we will search for keys of access to the study of temporality and spatiality in reports about movement experience, in order to establish a dialogue with the literature. This research has a phenomenological approach, which purpose is to restore the place of experience in the elaboration of meaning with the recognition of the body as the origin of the effective contact with the world. Considering this referential, we hope that the study of temporality and spatiality under the light of the human movement experience will enrich discussions on corporeality. (AU)
