Abstract

The implant design, characteristics of bone and surgeries techniques are essential for the primary stability, favoring the osseointegration. The aim of this study is to assess the influence of implant shape in primary stability through analysis of performance testing and resonance frequency of conventional implants and modified. In the first stage of the study will be used 70 implants Neodente®: 30 cylindrical implants - 10 external hexagon (Titamax Ti Cortical - 4.0 mm x 11 mm), 10 internal hexagon (Titamax II Plus - 3.75 mm x 11 mm), 10 cone morse (Titamax CM - 4.0 mm x 11 mm); and 30 tapered implants 4.3 mm x 10 mm - 10 external hexagon (Alvim Ti), 10 internal hexagon (Alvim II Plus) and 10 cone morse (Alvim CM). The implants will be installed on different substrates: pork rib bone, wood, polyethylene, artificial bone of the Nacional® and artificial bone Synbone AG©. To test the performance will be measured insertion torque wrench with a digital Mackena®, and pullout strength by axial traction force with load cell of 200kg of the universal testing machine EMIC model DL-10000 and Sftware Tesc 3.13. For analysis of the resonance frequency will be used appliance Ostell®. In the second stage, the type of implant with higher primary stability will be modified where they will be disposed of some screw pitch to assess the influence of the position and number, being subject to the same analysis done in conventional implants. To obtain the results data will receive statistical treatment in order to correlate the shape of the implant, insertion torque, pullout strength, resonance frequency and micro structural characterization.
