Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of pulpal infection alone or associated with diabetes in the blood profile and, quantification of proinflammatory cytokines TNF-±, IL-6, IL-17. Will be used 40 Wistar rats divided into 4 groups of 10 animals each: G1 - normal rats, G2 - rats with pulpal infection, G3 - diabetic rats; G4 - diabetic rats with pulpal infection. Diabetes is induced by application of streptozotocin intravenously and confirmed in 24/48 hours by glycemic control. The pulpal infection is induced by exposure of the pulp upper right first molar to the oral environment. After 30 days, the animals' blood will be collected via cardiac puncture to perform the analyzes to characterize the blood profile (CBC), and the measurement of serum proinflammatory cytokines (TNF-±, IL-6, IL-17). Then the animals are sacrificed, the jaws (right and left) and organs (heart, liver and kidney) removed and separated. The maxillary laboratory will be processed for evaluation by light microscopy to characterize the profile of the local disease in each animal. The organs will be analyzed by ELISA for the quantification of proinflammatory cytokines (IL-6, IL-17 and TNF-±). The results obtained in different analyzes will be analyzed and compared with the histological profile, allowing a paired statistical analysis (p <0.05). (AU)
