Abstract

A novel uncertainty quantification framework based on the concept of the Wiener Path Integral (WPI) will be developed and applied for studying and predicting the complex stochastic behavior of linear/nonlinear systems/structures of engineering interest. In this regard, WPI based response determination and reliability assessment methodologies will be developed. It is expected that the developed WPI framework will offer a unique new tool for addressing complex problems for the first time and facing current and future challenges in the field of engineering mechanics. By means of a short course, the visiting scholar will train the research group at the host institution in the application of WPI to uncertainty quantification, as well as in the solution of linear and non-linear stochastic dynamics problems.
