Abstract

Adventures in sociological field of health intends to open up a field of reflection to professional, from subjects less valued in school health. To this end, we dare question the method, disorganize Science and open space for indiscipline which accommodate the unclean and given inconclusive results. Our greatest inspiration, Marcel Mauss, who, in 1934, found the body techniques such acts physio-psycho-social well-behaved contrary to the separation between culture and nature that underlie modern epistemology. So we invite the reader to participate in the experience of this look on the body and identify it nature, culture, society and history. This involves disobeying the order of epistemologies, decolonizing and invent rationales syncretism. Also identified with the challenges of Bruno Latour, give voice to the fields of knowledge hybrids of nature and culture, they have an example in Physical Education / Human Kinetics. But let us not forget, also, of the other disciplines of health sciences such as Nursing, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Nutrition, in a context in which to practice medicine is health hegemony. We look at these borders epistemic give dignity to the various collective experiences as women religious, the food, the emotional, the family, the community, the festival, the ritual, the symbolic, the subjective, the taboos ... Anyway, all that animates life as a source of immanence and transcendence of the body and soul. Remember that the World Health Organization (WHO) adopted in 1946 a practical perspective approximate this theoretical approach. So what place we? As shown in postcolonial thought of Salman Rushdie, we find ourselves between two cultures, as they sit between two stools, between culture and the culture of the body of society. We are in-between places... Anyway, the four themes mentioned this book express the state of art of this our first initiative. Carlos Eduardo Marotta Peters presents our role as Brazilian intellectuals working on the ideologies of the health field; Thereza Maria Lemos de Arruda Camargo shows that you can bring to the field of health a discussion on the margins of health sciences, folk medicine; Angel Martínez-HERNAEZ discusses the problems of globalization and the culture of consumption in our lives, and Paulo Henrique Martins offers the paradigm of the gift as a role model in these special circumstances of modernity.
