Abstract

This paper presents a proposal for construction of an auditorium on the top floor of the Library Dante Moreira Leite Institute of Psychology, University of São Paulo (IPUSP). Founded in 1971, the Library of IPUSP's mission is "to coordinate actions for selection, assembly, organization and dissemination of information in Psychology in Brazil and Latin America, while supporting the teaching, research, extension and professional practices, contributing to the preservation, generation of knowledge and visibility in the area”. Describes a brief history of the library and presents an overview of the various activities aimed at supporting research, education and extension. Pointing two projects coordinated by the Library staff: "Virtual Health Library - Brazil Psychology (BVS-Psi Brazil)" and "Preserving Memory IPUSP." Reports that over the years with the growth of the various activities the library has established itself as a center of reference in the area of information in Psychology in Latin America and with that their spaces are wanted for events, meetings, papers, theses defenses, lessons , lectures and other activities to promote the use of psychological knowledge. His spaces are also used by teachers as a complement to the lack of suitable spaces for these types of events in IPUSP. Thus, the implementation of this plan will improve the support structure for research and teaching in IPUSP since plans to build a new auditorium for the improvement of local infrastructure. In this budget proposal, contained also a detailed description of all items requested, including a budget of local reform. (AU)
