Strange and charmed hypernuclei: structure and weak decay


The visiting scientist will be involved in the investigation of the structure and weak decay of strange and charmed hypernuclei. Specifically, the project aims to extend to charmed hypernuclei a formalism developed by the visitor for strange hypernuclei to treat the non-mesonic weak decay involving the interaction of bound nucleons and hyperons. Investigation of effects due SU(4) flavor symmetry breaking and the consideration of quark-gluon processes in the decay are important parts of the project. (AU)
