Abstract

This study aims to characterize the method and the frequency of sanitizing toys used in Children Daycare Centers, in order to identify potential problems to promote the colonization by bacteria and their pathogenic potential. We have found some studies investigating bacteriological conditions and their pathogenic potencial in toys and in the hands of children in hospital and outpatient context, in which it is highlighted the importance of the choice of the suitable product for cleaning and disinfection. However, no record has been found on this research in Children Daycare Centers, which justifies the need of the present sudy.It is a cross-sectional descriptive population-based study, using as observation unit 50 Children Living Units ( C L U ), belonging to the Collegiate of Regional Management of Health Consortia (CRM Consortia), Regional Management of Health II of Araçatuba - SP (RMH II), which receive children from O to 5 years and 11 months and 29 days. The variables will be obtained through interviews and recorded on data collection instrument designed specifically for this purpose. The interview will be done with the coordinator of each CLU or person nominated by the same, through appointment in advance with standard 5 days. (AU)
