Abstract
Strongyloidiasis is a parasitic disease caused by the nematode Strongyloides stercoralis. This helminthiasis is potentially severe in immunosuppressed patients. Increasingly has used the species S. venezuelensis as an alternative for the production of antigens, the study host-parasite interaction, therapeutic assays, as well as in studies involving molecular biology methods. To evaluate the application of blood samples in molecular diagnosis of strongyloidiasis will be used rats (Rattus norvegicus) experimentally infected with S. venezuelensis. (AU)
