Abstract

The biomaterials such as hydroxyapatite (HA) which is a benchmark for bone grafting in dentistry and medicine, may have different absorption rates in the body, depending on each specific case. When the goal is to keep the material in the region indefinitely defective, serving as osteoconductive load, a low resorption rate is desired, however, if the goal is to replace the graft material for new bone to be formed, a higher resorption rate is required. The speed (rate) reabsorption by the body depends on the physicochemical properties of the biomaterial, where the surface condition is critical. Thus, this work aims to study the coating of suitable matrices with HA, Tricalcium phosphate (TCP) and bioglass, using the methods of immersion and replica shaping in order to tailor the surface conditions to meet the demand of bone resorption . Studies of the suspensions of the materials mentioned above, for use in coatings and matrices grafting materials, will be performed in the laboratories of the Federal University of ABC and the Nuclear and Energy Research Institute.
