Abstract

In its 2nd phase, the project objective to develop or adapt phytotechnical and phytosanitary technologies, marketing and adding value to enable the cultivation of oil plants to the reality of small farms to promote sustainable development, mainly crops of physic nut, sunflower and castor of west São Paulo. To evaluate the intercropping plant parameters aimed at producing biomass of physic nut concomitant production of other oil and/or food crops to the sustainability of small farms making efficient use of soil; set parameters for testing the seeds physiology quality and to study the best time for harvesting of physic nut seeds in relation to their quality; to monitor the use of composted sewage sludge on sunflower, castor and physic nut crops; to verify the effectiveness of preventive and curative control of chemicals and induces disease resistance in physic nut rust; to study the effect of physic nut cake on nematodes control in vegetable crops and to study the reproduction of Meloidogyne spp in oil plants: rape, physic nut, sunflower and castor bean in a greenhouse; raising for the establishment of local productive systems involving industries such as developers of the process to be established supply chains of oil alternatives, training of members of the project team and farmers so that they are able to organize themselves into an independent association and develop the spirit of collaboration, to understand the dynamics marketing of the production of oil plants and draw a profile of farmers in Midwest region of São Paulo. To do so will be held technical meetings with partners, events aimed at knowledge transfer and research results, publication of a practical report about oil plants that will enable the guidance of public actions and if successful, experiments in progress may contribute to local development, representing lessons for other regions. Since that will be used as indicators: farmers and local businesses aware, effects on productivity in the region, calls on the technical assistance, projects implemented, effects on family income, identification of new sales channels, developing of new products for commercialization and number of trained technicians.
