Abstract

Due to the importance of historic/cultural preservation and of recapturing collective memory, this project aims at discussing the process of strengthening the partnership among the university, public power and society through the expansion of the activities of the Historical and Pedagogical Museum of Ourinhos as a center of memorabilia and research as well as of the preservation of historical heritage. Our proposal is having this process take place in a partnership between USP/UNESP and the Municipal Secretariat of Culture, with its principle being the importance of this space and of its role in the construction of this community's collective memory.
