Abstract This work aims to investigate the origin and evolution of three cities in the hinterlands area from Pernambuco and Ceara states (cities of Araripina, Triunfo and Crato) and how they have raised in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries,a period which highlighted the social and economic phenomenon called "Leather Cycle", from which there are no specific studies on its origins, history, memory and morphological affiliations.This occurs because only the main cities in the early republic in Brazil (those with a greater political and economic interest) or studying, the exhaustion, the unsustainable and chaotic metropolis of today, creating numerous gaps that, if fulfilled, could compose a more complete picture of brazilian urbanism.This study is still focused on analyzing how process of internalization of the Brazilian Northeast in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries has been initiated with the "Cyrcle of the Cattle" (wich has favored the rise of urban areas) and consolidate with the introduction of the vapor machine as an element connected with the Industrial Revolution, which is a very important fact to the configuration of the urban morphology in the three cities under studies. | |
