Abstract

The research deals with the development of geological-geothecnical and environmental risk assessment system applied to pipeline oil, supported by a projected digital database that will be structured into Geographic Information System - GIS. The risk assessment system will use quantified methods to define the following parameters: probability of the hazard events; run-out reach; vulnerability and consequences related to the potential affected elements. These methods will be structured according to the proposal of Studies of Risk Analysis - SRA and it will combine the cartography and statistical analysis of terrain indicators related to hazard events analyzed, the multicriteria analysis and by the use of numeric models such as simulations of superficial and underground water flows, universal soil loss equation and slope stability analysis methods. The data will be obtained from existing works and from new specific investigations and surveys developed during the research, comprising office, laboratory and field activities. The main cartographic works will be developed at 1:10,000 scale (topographic map and digital aerial photographs) and it will cover the terrains intercepted by the São Paulo - Brasília - OSBRA pipeline oil between São Simão and Ribeirão Preto municipalities, in São Paulo state (total extension of almost 50 km).
