Despite the hazardous materials are potentially harmful to the environment and human health, these materials are indispensable for the development of the country, being converted in benefit and comfort to society. In Brazil road transport of goods predominates over the other modes, making the traffic of hazardous materials a risk to society and the environment. Because of its specific characteristics, accidents involving hazardous materials cause potentiated environmental influences in the soil, air and water. This research aims to develop a methodology for multicriteria analysis for environmental risk assessment of traffic accidents involving the transportation of hazardous materials (TRPP). Environmental elements and road will be defined by the expert panel. To evaluate the efficiency of the model it will be made the mapping of vulnerable environments alongside the road through a case study using GIS tool. For the weighting of the criteria it will use the method of pairwise comparison, for the normalization a function and fuzzy linear and the method WLC for combination of criteria: environmental, population and probability of accidents. The identification the higher risk areas can be used in guiding operations in emergencies, targeting of measures to reduce these risks, or may guide the identification of areas with higher risk for they are not used as main routes, thus ensuring traffic safety.
