Abstract

This project involves the synthesis and the study of new materials (inorganic organic or hybrid) with different nano and micrometric architectures, which will be functionalized and immobilized by using different methods depending on the desired application. The arrangement of these systems on conducting materials (metals or oxides) aims the construction of recognition devices (sensors or biosensors), advanced actuators (drug controlled release and cellular growth) and materials for energy storage. The present proposal joints the expertise of Prof. Susana I. C. Torresi and Roberto M. Torresi from the 'Laboratory of Electrocative Materials', IQUSP. Their research fields are concerned with physical chemistry of surfaces and interfaces, electrochemistry, sensors, hybrid materials and electrodes for energy storage. (AU)
