Abstract

Prof. Folli will provide advices to several ongoing projects in the following groups of professors: Lício A. Velloso, Mario J. A. Saad, Antônio C. Boschero, Everardo M. Carneiro e José B. Carvalheira. This Professor has a huge experience in insulin resistance and insulin secretion areas and he must contribute considerably for the development of the projects aforementioned. Prof. Folli will contribute in the Velloso's group to analyzing and doing suggestions in some studies that aims to advance in the comprehension of mechanisms that contribute to insulin resistance in the hypothalamus of animal models of obesity. In the Prof. Saad's group, Prof. Folli will provide advices in projects that assess molecular mechanisms of insulin resistance. In the Boschero's group the Prof. Folli will contribute advising some studies that evaluate the hormonal signaling pathways which contribute to insulin secretion in the pancreatic islets. Prof. Folli, in the Carneiro's group, will contribute in projects that aims to evaluate how nutrients participating in the control of insulin secretion. Finally, Prof. Folli will provide advices to Prof. Carvalheira's group in some projects that aims to study the connections between insulin resistance and cancer. (AU)
