Abstract

Besides as serving as a means to strengthen the already ongoing collaboration between the research unit of prof. Odemir Bruno and the one of the visitor, Dr. Jan Baetens, the goal of this visit would be to indicate further opportunities for collaboration in general, and more specifically those that are situated along the interface between discrete dynamical systems, on the one hand, and cryptographic systems, on the other hand. Moreover, also the development of image analysis techniques that are based upon so-called cellular automata will be explored further. In the meantime, a paper is in preparation on each of topics, which indicates the potential of further collaboration. (AU)
