Abstract

The aim of the present work is build an intervention model for the promotion of management through sustainable projects for the higher education institution (HEI). In order the goal to be achieved, there is the need to: (1) Understand the elements featuring the HEI context and define the HEI process architecture; (2) Identify the indicators of sustainable processes and identify/analyze the problems and opportunities for improvement; (3) Describe the building process of this model through action research. The research is theoretical-empirical and qualitative with the action research strategy. The research is to be conducted in four phases: (1) Theoretical fundamentation; (2) Selection of the performance indicators; (3) action research; (4) model proposition. When the research is concluded, we intend to propose a model for the promotion of management through processes focused on sustainability that meets the roles and responsibilities, the integration of process management with project management, the techniques and phases according to the main theoretical presuppositions postulated by the specialized literature. The benefits are hoped to contribute with the thresholds of knowledge on the area, once that up to the present moment there has been no study with a similar contribution level and that has presented empirical evidences on the promotion of process management focused on sustainability in HEI. It is also hoped that the result of this research can be relevant for HEI managers who evaluate possibilities for the promotion of management through process focused on sustainability. Moreover, it is hoped that many new research opportunities to come can be identified and presented. (AU)
