Abstract

The virtual reference service with regard to ways of offering reference service through information technology (IT) that can bring a number of benefits for those involved in general. Because it is a recent technology, there are many resources that can be explored for the benefit of both the university libraries and the users that interact by this tool. For the opportunities to be explored, in the context of university libraries, this study aims to develop an analytical model of the virtual reference service from the point of view of its users by means of analysis tools developed and used in electronic context. This model should be used and analyzed with users of virtual reference service offered by university libraries traditional (physical) so therefore it can be validated and then serve as an instrument to measure these services.
