New perspectives for the switching paradigms in the new generation of optical networks

Abstract

This research project aims to expand the studies in the area of Optical Networks, focusing on new perspectives for the switching paradigms that are likely to be present in the next generation of optical networks. Therefore, the main objective of this project is to analyze hybrid networks operating with different switching paradigms, using for this goal the ONSim platform, developed in our research group. Thus, we are intended to enable the simulation of hybrid optical networks operating with multiple switching paradigms, which will be studied in a variety of scenarios. (AU)
