Abstract
The Smart-Grid is a new concept in the modernization process of power distribution system. Nowadays, several research centers are worried with the Smart-Grids usage, it's implementation is shy due to security risks. The risks are associated to data networks and technologies used to monitor, manage and account the power systems. The main goal of this project is assure security to Smart-Grids implementing security mechanisms to services and data, exploring the potential of Software Defined Networks concept. There are others solutions to provide a trust and secure Smart-Grid system, however, solutions as MPLS, providing traffic engineering and services of virtual private networks, has high cost and hard implementation. Therefore, this work will investigate and propose security solutions to Smart-Grid Systems using the Software Defined Networks, allowing dynamic and custom management of networks and provided services.
