Abstract

This research intends to investigate the authors (a): Olgária Matos, Ismail Xavier, Cynthia Sarti, Rubens Machado, Graziela Foglia, Pedro Arantes, Bruno K. Comparato, Leticia Squeff among other Brazilian scholars, have contributed to reflect on the topic of exile in the context of Philosophy, Literature, Visual Arts and Film Studies. If the philosophical thinking regarding the exile is seen as a point of no rectum, in literature the memories of those who were tortured are depicted as an antidote to the official challenges to encroach the forgetting experiences of extreme pain. It was a regretful event that has encompassed practically all Latin American countries, nevertheless; moviemaking perspectives on exile could be explained in a sort of continental constellation standpoint. Encouraged by the most committed filmmakers in the last century, who were also faced the exile experience; the idea of Latin America is pervaded, in this particular book venture, by this common ruthless experience. A come to terms with history is an important accomplishment in order to prevent the violence from obliviousness, which is even more dramatic owing to the propensity of history to expunge all specific nuances and traces. Extricating the movies that uncover the matter of memory, compelled us to become witnesses in the debate concerning to the senses and practices of memory and, essential/y, is also an effort to endorse the expression for those that have been banished from the official discourses. The scarcity of reflections that intermingled Brazil to Latin America summarizes the greatest experience of exile that contravenes us from assembling our own. (AU)
