Abstract

Evaluation of circulating levels of Glucagon-like-peptide 1 and 2 in human subjects with Crohns disease.- Intestinal resection in Crohns disease can reach up to 80% of the patients and be associated with disabsortive syndrome. Glucagon-like-peptide 1 and 2 (GLP-1 e GLP-2) are produced in enterocytes throughout the small bowel and ascending colon in response to nutrient ingestion. It is speculated that circulating levels of GLP-1 and GLP-2 may be altered in cases of intestinal resection and disease activity, however, there are few studies about this matter in Crohn' disease. Our objective is determine serum levels of GLP-1 and GLP-2 and DPP-4 in patients with Crohns disease, in an outpatient unit (GASTROCENTRO - UNICAMP). The patients will be evaluated according to the Crohns disease active index, nutritional status and submitted to meal tolerance test. This research may contribute to better knowledge of these incretins in Crohn' disease. (AU)
